As you may have discovered, Roach likes to Rant and Ramble on
about certain subject matters. So she's included the FAQ within the
Rant format, so you can read it if you wish, or NOT! It's up to you.
Most FAQ---Pertains to the Submission of fan based Music videos.
Roach and her buddies have tried to make it as simple as possible, but as
with everything, there are always hitches and obstacles to over come.

- What can be submitted?
Anything that is a Fan Based Music Video. This means it can be
based on a TV show, movie, comic book, anything that is Fan related.
- What information can be updated?
The Database is a collective effort and is designed to give as much
information on a video as possible. If you'd like to offer updates
of information, use the submission form and fill out what information
you have, and updated/change the category you feel needs to be adjusted.
Please be aware than any slanderous or flaming type materials will be
removed and you will be banned from adding any more materials to the
database, as well as your privileges to the Archives will be removed (if
you have them).
- You have made a video, but do not have a
Website, or a website large enough to accept the video file.
This is a common problem, and believe me when I say you're not alone.
This was the major reason why the archive was created. To store
and host those videos that had no other place to be displayed. If
you are in this category, there are many means of getting your video(s)
into the Archive. FTP upload is usually the easiest, but not the
only option. If you need help in this area, the Realm would be
more than happy to host your fan based music video (Free of charge)
within the archives, and list it within the database. You can
submit the information on your video through the
Submission Form (please
include a valid e-mail address to we can contact you about arranging for
the video to be in the archives), or you can
E-mail Roach directly if you have other questions.
- Why is there a Fee to access the Archive?
Good question. Here's where the Rant really comes into play.
- DOWNLOAD TIME: It's as simple as how long would it take you
to download all the videos listed in the database? As of the
writing of this Rant, there are 612 Videos (with more to list) in the
database. The average file size is between 10-15mb each.
That's a ton of time.
- GATHERING INFORMATION: It has taken many many hours to not
only locate the videos on websites (as they move, get renamed, change
versions etc) and then to find the music titles, the vidders names,
e-mail addresses, etc. All of this up to this point has been
done by Roach over the last two years (in her spare time). Now,
much of this information is provided via the submission forms,
however, there are still many blank spaces to fill.
- MAINTAINING THE DATABASE: It's huge, and growing every day.
The maintenance of the database alone, keeping the information where
it needs to be so you can find it, is a daunting task to say the
least, one that is handled by daily updates.
- MAINTAINING THE ARCHIVE: Ever wonder how much space an
archive like this takes up? Again, as of the writing of this
rant, 10.6GB (That's Gigabytes) is being taken by the archive.
This doesn't include alternate versions, high quality, or other
videos. This archive is hosted on Roach's server, and not only
is space to hold these videos costly, but the bandwidth for you to
download them is as well. Plus one must consider the time it
takes to maintain security of the database, as well as answer all of
the questions that arise from the various users. (Everything
from "My password isn't working" to "Why won't this video play on my
system.")
- Is there any way to bypass the fee to
access the Archive? Why yes there is. you can
either submit five videos to the archive/database and access will be
granted to you for free. Or, if you don't have this many videos,
get together with a friend or two (there are many of them out there) and
get yourself a group. The more videos in the database, the more of
an attraction it becomes for others. We want your videos, we want
to show them off, but at some point there needs to be some small
kickback to the Realm for providing such a wonderful service.
- What is the Fee to Access the Archives?
Well, it'll change depending on the availability of bandwidth, the size
of the archive, etc, however, it is a ONE TIME FEE, which means if you
pay the initial fee, you will not have to pay differences in the access
fee as it rises over the years. (Years, Roach really does plan to
have this archive available for as long as humanly possible).
Starting out, to get a few members involved the fee will be set at a low
price of $20.00. This is a lifetime worth of downloading. If
you lose the videos, you can always come back and download them again
for no additional charge. This will also gain you access to the
Member's only section of this site, where the creators and the fans of
their videos can get together and chatter about whatever they'd like, as
well as important updates regarding the archives, the database, and any
special deals that come down the pipeline.
