Quest for Zenobia's Ring For several years, Lara had been searching for the fabled ring of Zenobia, a Palmyra queen who led her people in a war against the Romans. The ring was rumoured to have great powers and was one of the reasons Zenobia was able to hold back the Romans for as long as she did. Lara had found herself mysteriously drawn to the ring as it had slowly turned into an obsession for her. The ring itself had been broken into two pieces – the gem and the base – as well as having numerous fakes created to prevent its discovery, making it one of Lara’s hardest items to find. It was a challenge, even for Lara, so she could not resist the hunt for the ring. Lara received a call from her friend, Sara Pezzini, while she was out on a hunt for Zenobia’s ring. Hearing the distress in her friend’s voice, Lara knew the call was a painful one for Sara. Sara was eventually able to tell Lara that her boyfriend, Concubar, had been killed. The news hit Lara on several levels, and she immediately invited her friend to London for a vacation at her manor. Sara would not arrive for a few days, so Lara finished her current hunt until she located several rings and several gems.
